The story of Ankita Chaudhary clearing UPSC in spite of losing her mother due to an accident while preparing for the examination shows the grit and resilience of a person towards his or her goal.
Ankita hails from a lower middle class family of Rohtak district of Haryana. Her father works as an accountant in a sugar factory. He supported her to get good education right from childhood.
Ankita graduated from Hindu College Delhi in Chemistry. During the course of her college studies she thought of becoming an IAS officer. Along with her post-graduation studies at IIT Delhi, Ankita also started preparations to take on the gruelling UPSC exam.
Her first attempt in 2017 at the UPSC did not go well for Ankita. She was more determined to take the examination for the second time. However, tragedy struck her family as she lost her mother in an accident. But her father Satyavan inspired her to put the tragedy behind and continue focusing on achieving her goal.
In 2018, Ankita had her second attempt at UPSC backed by her father’s inspiration and taking into stride her mother’s sudden passing away. Her perseverance paid off as she got an excellent AIR 14, which fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
